Henry Eigenheer - My Fortnight with Time and Talents

I have just finished a two-week placement with the Time and Talents charity organization. I was taken care of by Kieren McIntosh, he also allowed me to stay with him and showed me my jobs at Time and Talents.

Time and Talents is a community centre in Rotherhithe, London. It caters for a large variety of people, young and old giving them activities and taking them on outings. During my time with them I helped in several areas of the organization. In the first week I helped with a number of different activities including a barbecue to thank the volunteers for their work with the organization. I also joined Kieren on a visit to another youth centre to help out and did some administration work as well as helping with the stroke club. I did any other small jobs that needed doing.

In the second week I met up with a youth in the area called Charlie Brown, who Kieren helps on a regular basis, we did various activities together. I did some more administration work and went around Rotherhithe inviting young people to a climbing event that took place on that Thursday. I attended the climbing event with eleven people. I did clearing up and general tidying and moving things for Time and Talents.

Overall I had an extremely enjoyable and rewarding two weeks, which was great, as I did not quite know what to expect. Kieren and the staff at Time and Talents were extremely welcoming and this made things a lot easier for me.
