Fred Packard
Fred Packard is the eldest grandson of Lord Rank and has been Chairman of The Rank Foundation since 2000. It was Fred’s idea to launch the Fellowship in 2003, to celebrate twenty-five years of the Foundation’s School Leadership Award.
Fred was born in Los Angeles, then brought up and educated in Britain. He spent the first part of his working life in Brazil, as employee, shareholder, and director of Banco de Investimentos Garantia, one of Brazil’s leading investment banks. Fred retains business interests in Brazil as well as in the UK and in several emerging economies around the world. He also sits on a variety of company boards.
Fred is married to Dulce, a Brazilian from Sao Paulo, and they have two daughters, both at university. Fred remains totally committed to his original goal of making the Rank Fellowship a dynamic and vigorous organisation that offers its participants a mixture of enjoyable personal interaction, a chance to help younger members, and interesting opportunities to be involved in stimulating and worthwhile charitable activities
