Website workshop for small charities May 2009
The first Fellowship workshop outside London took place in Manchester on 28 May 2009: it was a workshop designed to help small charities with developing their websites. Technical support can be expensive and it was very generous of Withington Girls School's Head of IT, Andy Lockett, and his assistant, Chris, to provide a flexible workshop for a full day at the school. Janet Pickering, Withington's Head, was hugely supportive of a very successful day.
Eight representatives of charities came along and they clearly made huge strides with their website development. The leaders of the Sanctuary Church in North Manchester have been planning to get their own website up and running for four years; thanks to Andy Lockett's guidance, the website was up and running within an hour of the start of the day. It was an excellent start to the expansion of the Fellowship's workshop programme outside London and a model for website help which can be replicated in other schools across the country.
