The Manchester Charities Evening

On Thursday 20 November, Manchester’s Museum of Science and Industry will play host to the Rank Fellowship’s first annual gathering outside London. The Fellowship's annual Charities Evening, previously held in London, has proved to be a highly successful evening, combining a superb social event for Rank Fellows to meet each other, with the opportunity to meet with representatives from a broad range of Rank supported Charities.

So what’s in it for you?
Well, it’s a fantastic opportunity to meet other Rank Fellows and to learn more about the Fellowship’s developments as it celebrates its fifth anniversary. You’ll have opportunities to find out about charities in your region and discuss with representatives the potential ways that you might be able to put your professional skills to good use by giving them a little of your expertise. It’s not about asking for money, but sharing skills and knowledge to further the activities of the great variety of charities attending.

What’s it in for the charities?
The focus of their evening is about making connections with Rank Fellows to seek professional skills charities often find hard to secure (accountancy advice, legal advice, volunteer work, fundraising help etc ). The evening also provides a great networking opportunity between the charities.

And there’s more.....
The Museum of Science and Industry is a stunning location housed in a warehouse built in 1880 and serving Britain’s first ever passenger railway. We’ll be gathering in the ‘Manchester Science Gallery’, which traces Manchester's era at the forefront of scientific discovery and its advancement in Victorian time in the form of an incredible exhibition. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit the Textiles Gallery which traces Manchester’s world-famous turn of the century cotton industry.

We very much look forward to seeing you at the Museum of Science and Industry on 20 November and do drop Gill Zammett a line if you need any further details at gill.zammett@rankfoundation.com.
